Individual Investors

Customized Portfolios

INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY/APPROACH

LMCG Customized Portfolios are managed by the LMCG Private Client Group. For individual investors with $2 million or more in financial assets, we offer portfolios of individual securities tailored to their particular financial situations, needs and goals, based on our time-tested and sound judgment, as well as solid advice regarding other aspects of their financial lives. We manage all-equity and balanced (equity and fixed income) portfolios. In constructing and managing these portfolios, we are constantly guided by each client’s particular tax profile, investment horizon, income need and perspective about market volatility.

Our strategy for equities focuses on owning large and mid-sized companies with above-average earnings growth potential and reasonable valuations that can be held for the long term. Portfolio turnover is typically fairly low. We employ classic fundamental security analysis to help us identify companies of the highest quality in terms of competitive advantage, profit margin expansion, balance sheet strength, conservative accounting, corporate governance issues and management integrity.

For the fixed income portion of balanced accounts, we build laddered portfolios of individual bonds commensurate with the income needs, tax situation and risk tolerance of the individual clients. Our portfolios are designed to generate income, preserve capital and deliver a reasonable total rate of return through investment in high quality individual securities.
